Question 1

How many watts does the Pulsar G12KBN run on propane?

Accepted Answer

On propane, it produces 10,800 peak watts and 8,550 running watts. On gasoline, you get 12,000 peak and 9,500 running watts, so propane costs you roughly 10% of output.

Question 2

Can the Pulsar G12KBN power a whole house?

Accepted Answer

It can power the essentials of most homes, such as the fridge, lights, furnace blower, sump pump and a window air conditioner. Running a large central air conditioner plus everything else at once may exceed its limits. Use a transfer switch and stagger heavy loads.

Question 3

Does the Pulsar G12KBN have an electric start?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It has electric (push-button) start, which is a big convenience compared with pulling a recoil cord, especially in bad weather or at night.

Question 4

Is the Pulsar G12KBN safe for sensitive electronics?

Accepted Answer

It isn’t an inverter generator, so power quality isn’t as clean as inverter models. Listings describe fairly low harmonic distortion, but I’d still use surge protection or a UPS for laptops, TVs and other sensitive gear.

Question 5

How long is the warranty on the Pulsar G12KBN?

Accepted Answer

Published reviews and listings point to a one-year limited warranty. Confirm the details with your seller before purchase, especially if you’re buying from a third-party marketplace.
